I've been out riding my bike, walking in joburgs parks, watching wimbledon and spending time with family. But yeah you're right, it has been a quiet week on the forum, especially considering it was a payment week. Where is everybody?

CCO has a very high PE ratio but that is normal due to the high asset value of the properties they own.

Ah I checked it on FT.com and saw 9.7 and got quite excited. Now I checked on sharenet and see 250! Which one is it?

Edit: Bloomberg has an estimate of 194???

Capital & Counties it will be. Good long term performance and the least volatile. Just what I have been looking for. Needs a good dip though as the exchange rate has given it a boost.

Never heard of them. Nice graph and P/E. Which of your 3 will you be selling to buy that?

Egypt market up 7.29%

I wonder if the same would happen here if we were to oust our president ::)

Don't talk too soon Patrick. CML does on occasion go too high above the sma but she is scared of heights and will retract back. The higher she goes, the longer the fall. This is one stock that respects the 20SMA and hopefully, as she normally does, she will bounce off it.
ATM she is pushing the BB up higher than the SMA can follow and this is not good.

Orca my screen just went blank, how am I doing?  ;D

Yes, the collective schemes act means that the UT's don't pay CGT, but as a holder you need to pay CGT when you sell units applying weighted average cost.

Any idea if you'd get taxed as a trader for selling unit trusts before the 3 year period is up? My UT has recently upped the fees and I'd be much happier putting those funds into ETFs.

Thanks Bundu, I'll correct it on the next email.

Orca your prediction about CML not going higher seems to have been off. Consequently, other than one share wonders and the penny share fakers, you're currently the accepted leader...

Press the print screen button. If you're on a laptop you might need to hold the fn key while doing that, then open paint or even ms word and press control V.

Unfortunately I made the security a little too tight, so even I can't login as you to take a look!

Ah that number was my addition. I was under the impression that it was 25% of the capital gain would be added to your income. Meaning a max of 10%. Do you have a sars link?

I take it you're grahamcr in the comp. In your public profile I see the counter name for ellies, could you post a screenshot showing your view.: http://www.investorchallenge.co.za/com_holdings_public.php?user_id=54

I do add the dividends to the trading account, so you can spend them as you would your regular deposits  :)

Off topic / Re: Supermoon 23 June 2013
« on: June 29, 2013, 01:16:56 pm »

Quote
Explanation: A Full Perigee Moon rose as the Sun set last Sunday. At its closest to Earth it was, by just a bit, the year's brightest and largest Full Moon also known as a Super Moon. Seen from Punta Piedras, Argentina and the mouth of the Rio de La Plata, near Buenos Aires, the Super Moon's light created this magnificent circular lunar halo. Still, the size of a lunar halo is determined by the geometry of six sided water ice crystals in planet Earth's high, thin clouds. The crystals deflect the rays of moonlight more strongly through a minimum angle of 22 degrees. So this halo has an inner radius of 22 degrees, just like the halos of the less-than-super moons. Even more common than a Super Moon, beautiful 22 degree halos can be spotted at any time of year.
