Title: Shares Daily Volume
Post by: Luna on July 14, 2014, 03:06:17 pm
Okay, so I'm on top for the normal leaderboard and dividends leaderboard.... for now... BUT, I just want to know something:

Is it possible to limit trade Volumes in-game to the current Volume traded for specific shares on that day? Or maybe limit it to the 30 Day Average Volume? Some of my trades have fallen within the daily volumes but I think some of them haven't... It would make things better? What conditions must be met for the shares to be listed in this game?

For instance, why isn't Mustek (MST) in the list of shares? Considering that PNC has fallen... I would think it would be nice to have MST there as a different option for "Technology Hardware & Equipment" category... They just released a SENS stating an increase of more than 20% EPS compared to previous corresponding period.

It'll be impossible to program for that. That data isn't published untill too late, it would mean rolling back transactions, or reducing the amounts. All a serious nightmare to code for.

We took all shares that trade less than 16 times a dayout of the competition, and there's a 15 minute delay in pricing so it get's updated to the real price. Could it be that you're just a great trader? :)

How does your real life portfolio look?

Well in all honesty... I don't trade at all in real life... this game makes it possible for me to experiment with a few shenanigans that I won't necessarily just do with my own money.  ::)

Hmm wouldn't it be better to only list the stocks that have an average daily trade volume of say about 100 000 shares per day instead of the 16 trades a day requirement? Stocks that trade at least 100 000 shares a day are the only stocks liquid enough to be safe to trade without affecting the share price that much?

Or 50 000 shares per day... that way Mix Telematics might still be included  ::)

Don't change the rules mid term - if the decision was made to exclude certain counters then we must live with that decision to end of competition
