Title: Share price calculation
Post by: Swany05 on January 30, 2015, 07:48:31 am
Hi Patrick

Im new to this and trying to understand how things work in terms of trading. Please see below for some eg:

2015-01-08 09:24:02 BVT Bidvest Ltd  5 30197 R1 629,85
2015-01-26 12:07:38 BVT Bidvest Ltd  -5 31198 -R1 439,90

Bidvest was a test hence the low quantity

2015-01-08 09:16:44 SOL Sasol Limited  10 40342 R4 154,20
2015-01-27 09:47:16 SOL Sasol Limited  -10 41574 -R4 037,40

As you can see my trades re made at about 3% but often the timing is off due to the latency. Am I missing an obvious fundamental?

Looks normal to me, the fees are what's screwing you. They are either 0.4% or R120, whichever is more! Pretty close to real life.

How could Levit Holdings buy STPROP today at 5100 when it opened at 5770 and never went lower.

That's share has done that a few times now. I'll check it out and roll back if needed
