Title: End of comp selling of shares
Post by: Snapcase on April 13, 2016, 03:42:26 pm
If anyone knows, at the end of the year, are you forced to sell off the shares?  This is my first year actively participating, so I'm not sure of how it works at the end.

I think this is how the itrade comp does it or used to do it.  It would even out the leaderboard at the end then.

If not, surely it encourages a buy and hold strategy only, to avoid tax?

Nope, we work on total net worth - taxes, exactly as the leaderboard works now. You won't need to sell anything.
