Owning the property you live in is still up to debate as to how good an investment strategy it is...

100% on the Buy to Rent.
As for buy to own. Land is at the center of this country's issues and there ain't going to be more land available suddenly, so imo buy it if you can, even to live in it. That is how you build multi-generational wealth.
