"Why add all that extra mileage to your own car when you can let someone else pay the depreciation and wear and tear bill."

Because I like my car and I bought it for a reason :p

Hamster:
Good post. We're planning a holiday to travel through Europe (Netherlands, Germany, Austria etc). The cash and mobile data/phone are my biggest worries

Apparently the EU no longer allows roaming fees so you might be okay with just 1 sim.

Oh and what car do you drive  ;D

Something big is coming along these lines, still hush-hush at this stage but you'll be okay Hamster.

Travel tips always welcome.

Patrick's frugal budget ideas really starting to rub off on me a bit  ;) well, almost.  Point in case, after a show Friday night we went to the Globe Bar, Menlyn Main.  These puppies cost R50 000 a bottle, R3 000 a single shot, hubster asked if I wanted to try - almost did but I (yes me) convinced the table to go for a R177 per single shot whipskey in stead of the cognac.  See, I also try.  Baby steps.
