Where would you put your cash now? States? Europe? SA?
« on: May 09, 2013, 01:38:22 pm »
I work for an international company, mostly outside SA and they allow a portion of my salary to be put into my US bank account, and another portion into my SA bank account. I can change this ratio as I please.

Through the US account I also have the ability to invest in most major international markets. At the moment, all my investments are in SA, but should I start considering investing offshore, and if so where would you imagine the best returns would be in a 10 year timeframe?

Not that I am an expert on this subject, but I would have loved to be in your shoes. U can invest in Apple, Microsoft, Coke, Walt Disney and so on. Maybe have a look at what the funds do, i.e. how much they invest offshore %, and follow suit. U obviously have to look at tax implications and so on.

Like I said I am not an expert on this.....

most markets are at a high , especially usa and headed for a major dip. and those usa guys are major cruel, if they dunk, they do it with effort, they slam dunk.

They have already dumped gold, because they can. The market works in 2 ways , work the market up and make profits, when it gets to the top, start short selling and make even more. Remember they are traders and have to make money.

so if there is no reason or buyers to push it higher they start short selling and the only news you then get is bad news , so the market tumbles and they make more money again.

The only way you will make money is through patience and playing with them. So currently sell and wait. Unless you can identify a particular share or sector that is oversold and has recovery prospects and the only way that happens is if the big investors fail in their plan they will target a different sector to exploit
