First case of E confirmed in the US, forecast worldwide 1.4 mil cases by January 2015.  Biotech stocks taking off as result.

Yesterday FTSE -0.36%, DAX & CAC up +0.54% & +1.33%

Europe ended yesterday with FTSE -1.70%, DAX -1.98%, CAC -2.80%, MIB -3.92%, IBXEX -3.12%. (Draghi effect)

European futures up.

Dow ended -0.02%, Nas +0.18%, S&P +0.01%, futures up.

T40 +159 pips @ 43 158 (8:49am), Spot Gold 1210.83.

Bounce most probable today.

Dow ended +1.24% (17 010), Nas +1.03% (4476), S&P +1.12% (1968) after better than expected unemployment rated, non-farms & PMI.

Just in:  Germany Factory Orders came it at -5.7%, expected -2.5%, prev +4.9%, and that also covers eco data for today.

The JSE has granted a listing issue to The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited, better known and despised (at least by me) as SANRAL.  Authorised Programme size R31,910,000,000.00.

Pick ‘n Pay Stores H1 HEPS to rise between 51.01 to 55.09c, and PnP Holdings H1 HEPS to rise between 25.30 to 27.32c.

Eskom price increase 12.7% 2015/16 fin year, gold price below $1200, Rand down 1.7% (after strong US data).

Just  in: SA Foreign Reserves came in at 49.13B (USD), expected 49.47B, prev 49.77B.  If you’ve wondered, foreign reserves relates to a country’s gold holdings and convertible foreign currencies held in its central bank.  (Two other reports says 43.3B though.)

Earlier this morning, AUZ kept interest rate at 2.50% as expected and prev.

SA Business Confidence at 11:30am, previous 89.0.

New central bank governor is technocrat Kganyago from 9 Nov, R11.23.

Last night Dow ended -0.10%, Nas -0.46% and S&P -0.15%, futures red atm.

Samsung Q3 operating profit down 60%.

Gold futures $1205.20, Crude 90.27.
