Asian stocks shrugged off their early losses and steadied on Tuesday, though Japanese shares slumped as the yen clung to its gains even after the Bank of Japan held policy steady. MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan added about 0.3 percent. Japan's Nikkei stock average (NIK:^9452) bucked the regional trend and slumped 1.1 percent to touch its lowest levels in a week and a half. The BOJ kept monetary policy steady on Tuesday

Massmart moving into Angola with 2 new stores 2015, Sanlam planning 3 or 4 African acquisitions this year.  Woollies tried that last year in Nigeria and had to walk away because of poor supply chain infrastructure, high rent/duties, custom issues & difficulty of marketing. Is Angola that different especially considering Nigeria overtook SA as continent’s biggest economy on Sunday.  Just wondering.

Asian shares look to extend recent solid gains on Thursday after minutes of the Federal Reserve's latest policy meeting suggested the Fed may be more cautious towards raising interest rates than markets had thought. Chinese exports and imports both undershot market expectations, but analysts said the data was likely to be distorted

Japanese shares sank to six-month lows on Friday as an escalating selloff on Wall Street spread to Asia and slugged markets that had been fairly resilient up to now. What was increasingly looking like a major portfolio shift from momentum plays in U.S. technology and biotechnology stocks was having a knock-on effect

I have this feeling that the ugliness just got real on so many different levels for this week.

Moon’s F&G @ 19 ‘Extreme Fear’ VIX +7.17% @ 17.03.

Dow ended -0.89%, Nas -1.33%, S&P -0.93%, futures negative (-0.20% range)

Europe futures negative. (-0.40% range)

Don’t be gloomy, opportunity is always on hand and profits are rolling in way faster in a negative market than a positive one in the short term.

Long term investors, just hold on, focus on something else and come back later. (IMO)
