I bought some the other day.. had one day of good growth another of loss and freaked out and sold them ........ next day it went up double digit  :wall:

IMHO so hard to see this long term, trading it however has made cash for some

How would one speculate the pricing changes?
I'm currently tracking it via the expected increase or drops in the R and gold's price.

for sure

basically if all shit breaks loose in stock it rises as a safe haven

So yesterday due to a number of reasons ( Oil, Fed comments etc.. ) shares took a major knock in confidence and the price spiked

Tricky part here is despite how easy it may seem to predict a volatile stock day .. one never knows, and if one is to go by track record Gold generally drops when equities right themselves .. and so far this year we have been knocked , so theoretically unless you believe its a total meltdown we in for a re balance ( I HOPE! )

Have you seen this ETF from ABSA ?  You invest directly in gold as it tracks the Rand price of gold..  its interesting and while wont give the shoot the lights put of Harmony recently for example but maybe something more core if you looking for an easy way into gold
