I foresee prices in RSA increasing to the detriment of the consumer, Davis is definitely not in touch with what is going on in the country. He needs to ask himself how come the SA Poultry industry don't export any chicken products into the world market. It all revolves around the brine content of SA chickens - whereas we add up to 35% by mass of brine the imports are all less than 15% with many of the European countries outlawing brine additives

"I foresee prices in RSA increasing to the detriment of the consumer" Yes I agree, and also SA need to export, I work in a industry where we get hurt by imports. Europe is protected by import duties, and we are not, thus the competion into our market is getting hectic.

But I would rather pay a bit more for my chicken, and know that I am supporting work in SA.
