Lol, that's one way of looking at it.

I'm clueless, can't log in, can't trade and can't even find the leaderboard. Contacted them, hopefully they will sort quickly, life and opportunity is passing me by.   ???

MP,

go to

https://www.sanlamitrade.co.za/    Top right - Username and password. will take u to

https://www.sanlamitrade.co.za/Markets/MarketOverview.aspx

Then click on Portfolio, then virtual trading. Will ask for Name and password again.

Then it opens new page, do not close previous page, as this will log you out.

The reality is that the I Trade challenge is really for traders and not investors - the period that the competition runs for is far too short. I have entered the competition and once I have bought all my shares, I intend to just sit with them to competition end, not into buying and selling on a consistent basis

The leaderboard is being updated.

I must ask, is Eskom running this competition?

Is anyone tempted to switch to iTrade. I have found it quite interesting looking around at what you get. I am with ABSA and EE - must say the iTrade gives you a lot of interesting info. But it's certainly not very nice to look at -it's really all over the place. But, as said great info for a trader - ABSA seems easier to use and perfect for a long term portfolio.

How does it stack up to Std bank/ PSG's offerings?

This is the first time I have used their system and must say that I find the completion of screens very unfamiliar and as MP says all over the place. The process of buying shares seems somewhat antiquated and it doesn't show depth of bids and offers, also did not see transaction history.
I don't want to be unkind to Sanlam but being with my brokers I wonder if they ever asked their clients what they would like to see on the screens. However their screens may well be formatted in the way they are because they may be more skewed to assist traders rather than investors, so the layout of their screens does not encourage me to move from my present brokers

I've also only used absa and EE. For me EE is on the money for their target market, novice investors.

I have been using my IView account, for over a year. I pay R200 a year and I use it for research etc.

They also mail me stock evaluations from themselves and Merchantec.

But for actual trading I use ABSA. I think paying R200 a year is a bargain. :TU:

PS. IView is the virtual trading account, and I have renewed mine in march, so yes it is renewable.

Looks like @iress_africa is still wrestling with cash balances that are wrong. Will let #iTradeR1m know when the Leaderboard is up. Apology again.

I hope they are not using the Comp to get new clients ....  :LHST:
