Yes I'm working today :wall:
Luckily the office is very quiet. Anyway to keep myself distracted I was thinking of doing a quick blog post, but I'm looking for a graph of the ALSI very long term. Best I can find on the web is 10 years, but I'd like 50 at least. 100 would be even better. Anyone know where I can get really long term historical data?

Busy bee :)
Nope, all I can do is one going back to 1995.

Something I never knew. The ALSI isn't in fact every share on the JSE, but just the 164 largest companies: http://www.fin24.com/Money/Money-Clinic/Investments/Calculating-the-JSE-All-Share-index-20130625

Never knew that either but that chart looks frightening to me. Gone up too fast and too high again. The 28000 mark looks like where she should be. A correction to that will be a catastrophe but I'm sure the powers that be have learned a lesson from 2008 and will prevent a double dip.

28000? Compounding is exponential, not linear 8)
