Well considering my share portfolio is just satrix indi and coronation... only in the top 20 ;D

Was at a JSE presentation last night and the speaker was Cannon Asset Management and they have invested quite heavily into Pinnacle, OneLogix, Zeder, Sasfin, Old Mutual/Nedbank. So those holding Pinnacle don't fret

Thanks gcr. Needed that.  ;D

PNC made 2 acquisitions days before FY end. So the extra profits had not yet been booked. Can't see why it was dumped as the next results should be great.

H - go to Moneyweb and click on Unit Trust lookup and put in PNC and see how many unit trusts hold PNC in their portfolios

Had a look at their website. Not bad gains at all over the years. They have 3 of my shares in their portfolios. OMN, PNC and MTA. OMN seems to be their preferred share as it has the largest weighting in most of their portfolios.
25% pa is not bad as they have some Commodity stocks as well.

Where did you find this jaDEB? Went through all Cannon's portfolios and did not see this.

(Wouldn't think so if you look at the leader board. Seems guys with 1 or 2 picks doing much better - so much for 'eggs in one basket theory' :( )

I agree with you moon on the value of eggs in one basket such as in this competition, but the real danger comes in when that sector in which you hold all your eggs falls out of favour then you can be punished quite severely. If participants had bought into gold or platinum early in this competition then they would be taking quite a lot of pain now - I know because one of my pains is Goldfields and this is more so in my real portfolio. So I still believe in have a spread portfolio - one could I suppose use the same arguments around penny stocks and solid top 20 stocks - has a lot to do in the short term with the roll of the dice

I use to have +/- 5 shares in my portfolio + warrants. I then started using Bread's Philosophy.

LOL, one of the items I found added by Soutie, now also here.

Well done gcr. I bought CML at beginning of 2009 but kept selling and buying back in so only made around 350% and I withdrew all the divies.  :wall:

What really is amazing is the big diffs between CML and the runner up.

I hold Coronation, EOH, Woolies and Pinnacle in my LT port, also bought CML at 24.50  :)
