I would not put my pension money in this share, there seems to be an investment view that by buying cml one is buying into an company that is investing your money into stocks and what not, this is not the case, investing into one of their products that will happen.
By buying cml you are only joining into the management fees they make from their income they receive.

The company has no value, only income, they distribute

I still need some clarification on this share, so people seem to be of the opinion that if they buy cml, they are buying into a diverse portfolio of shares. But as far as i can see you are only buying shares in a management company that earns a income on funds they manage.

the same as buying shares in a bank, more or less.

So they have no underlying assets only income

The exploitation of the penny stocks is caused because the programme allows one to buy shares at the last traded price and not the available sellers price.

In the game I can buy a share for 1c if that was the last traded , but on the JSe the share will cost me 3c as that is what the sellers offer price is.

One example is slo, last traded 39, sellers 38 buyers 21.

Maybe the entrant wants to prove a point. that 1c shares can do something, but is really not in the spirit of the game, so I ignore those positions when looking at the leaders

most markets are at a high , especially usa and headed for a major dip. and those usa guys are major cruel, if they dunk, they do it with effort, they slam dunk.

They have already dumped gold, because they can. The market works in 2 ways , work the market up and make profits, when it gets to the top, start short selling and make even more. Remember they are traders and have to make money.

so if there is no reason or buyers to push it higher they start short selling and the only news you then get is bad news , so the market tumbles and they make more money again.

The only way you will make money is through patience and playing with them. So currently sell and wait. Unless you can identify a particular share or sector that is oversold and has recovery prospects and the only way that happens is if the big investors fail in their plan they will target a different sector to exploit

see that sll had a 50 % gain today on a trade of 1500 shares, wtf who buys for R45 plus costs on the jse. That trade must be related to a game or drunken bet somewhere. that trade at 3c cost about 9c a share.

That share has not traded near those levels since about 2009, when it was 20c. So someone is going to wait a bit to recoup or double R45

I think liquidity is a greater problem than penny stocks (although they are often the same stock)

edit: Alternatively, we could value a portfolio using the price of the highest buyer - that would knock some portfolios down to size - and in reality, that is what a portfolios value truly is at any moment

Agree this after all an investor game , not speculator game

How many people have more than one portfolio?

How about a table for the biggest gainers in a week ?

I don,t think a vote is needed about keeping a portfolio private, just add up the private vs non private portfolios and the majority wins.

This is after all just a game, it is not that there is money to be won. It is about broadening your horizons and helping each other gain more insight into investing.

So how is a private portfolio going to help
