LON    Lonmin plc   2747   3629   5473   50.81%   R150,343.31   14.14%

TKG    Telkom SA SOC Ltd   30528   1305   2262   73.33%   R690,543.36   58%

Jadeb feel a bit left out that you neglected to mention my 50.81 on lon and Jaymeb,s 73.33 on TKG.

The thing that makes me bit sick to the lowest part of my stomach, is that I was looking to buy TKG for my personal portfolio at 12.50 and some know it all (Wayne Mc currie) on Moneyweb said that he sees it going below 10.00, So I left it.

i no longer follow moneyweb

will have to check actuals, but I sold at 9.7, my average cost then was 9. So I Made a slight profit. My first buy was at 12, but I bought alot after they fell to get my buy average down.

I was major down on this stock as some stage, but kept on buying more. So decided to sell and get out while I was in slight profit with the strikes looming. Think I was like 30% down at some stage.

Was not good for sound sleeping. But I will buy them back once the shit is sorted. So I actually hope there are some issues so the price drops, if I can buy back at 8 that will be a major bargain.

I doubt that anyone of  the share trading platforms can seperate trading from investing, they just send sars a reconcile of your trades for the year. profits made losses made.

It will be for  your tax person  to do the to reconciling and motivation. Happened to me when I inherited shares from my father and they were transferred onto my account at his cost. The estate had already paid all the taxes, but they reflected on my trading account at a massive profit, I sold most of them and the profit was adjusted to the actual value at time of transfer.

But only after I pointed this out to my tax person. They are it would appear not to clued up on this.

So the same should happen on your tax return. The tax person should point out that profits made on a certain share where l/t and not trading.

Just read this please

So are you going to restate your reply :)

Not tonight though 8)

Remember things change during the year.

and as a trader I would now sell lon and sgl for a while.

I don,t have cml to sell , but methinks it is time to move onto to something else. Cml has had its run and money was made, lots of it

I think my lon did better than your cml, but then I,m a trader. but as investor not bad either.

Your growth on cml is 29.1 %, mine on lon is 50.73%.

I just put to little in them, but then sgl not doing to bad

their full year earnings are going to be considerably higher than 20 %, Their half year earnings were 80% to 100% higher, which caused the price hike.

So getting a full year at @20% + when you where already 80 to 100 at half time makes me wonder ;)

I have lost all confidence in investec >:D

I think that you mentioned that you dont expect cml to do as well this year, regarding investment bonuses.

Suppose it is sour grapes on my part because I am not in on this great performance.

But I have been bitten in the past by investing in companies that have no actual assets and only grow on investor sentiment and profits.

I am a conservative idiot :)

Bear in mind that those investments are by accounts under their management.

Has nothing to do with cml itself

I was only joking with you if you are referring to my comment by any chance. nothing serious meant. I also sometimes see you posting on sharenet if Im correct.

I have sort of split my portfolio in 2, half in really good long term stable shares with share values that backup their value and my investment  would grow over time  but have short term flucutations that i accept.

The other half of my portfolio I play around with , but only with the good stuff, i.e. bil will climb and hit a high I will sell and buy something else that has dropped or either just sit and wait a bit and buy the same share back . I bought and sold bil for many years now, last sell was at R300 odd after having bought at R265.

So I could consider buying them again , but have instead bought something else that is a bit more oversold.

But I cant actualy state that i beat the market as i don,t keep those stats , But what I can say is that the value of shares are the same as the start of this year and I have bought myself a shitload of toys with the profits made
