Sydney - Australia plans to scrap its carbon tax and bring forward an emissions trading scheme, Treasurer Chris Bowen said on Sunday, a policy shift certain to be a focal point in the forthcoming election.

Under current plans, Australia would move from the current fixed price on carbon - essentially a tax assessed on larger companies entitling them to produce carbon emissions - to a floating price in July 2015.

However, since Prime Minister Kevin Rudd regained the leadership of the governing Labour party last month, there has been mounting pressure to ditch the unpopular tax sooner

Of course when you diversify ................................................................. you do spread your risk as well. not many of us think of that, maybe it stupid I know..... Ohh look, the seagull is in the kitchen again.

Now instead of CML hitting a brick wall, you have CML or OMN or CML&OMN.

sOrry I need to clarify, when I say risk I mean Downward risk. What I am trying to say, currently Orca has CML, thus if CML goes down. If Orca now sells % of CML and buys OMN, his downward risk increases. Now CML or OMN has the risk of going down, when you have more shares, you limit your potential risk, but you do also increase your downward risk.

:wtf: damn, jaDEB, try and make sense...
 ??? I am trying, really I am..
:wall: Useless, I tell you, useless, only you would understand  :wtf: you are trying to say.
aggg, just give me my tablets

FFS Orca, if the market gets wind that you selling CML it will fall thru the floor.  :wall:  :frustrated:

Serious note, I like the fishy one, OCE, got 10% of portfolio of it. the other 90% is CML + my other portfolio (me,brother Darrel and other brother Darrel) is 100% CML. Other portfolio for Phantom is 100% OCE.

No Orca I is cool, no jail time for me. Had a loss last year, and this year my profit was less than R10,000. So yes, when I move in with you big boys, I will pay my dues (tax). Will then just work out my Share tax portion and sell shares to pay it.

But I read an article once, where they said so many people do not make profit (or less profit) cause they do not want to pay tax. The article indicated, why not clap it, make R100k, pay your tax and have R50k. Or sit and be scared, before you wipe u eyes out it went R100k u do not sell, then drops back. Thus u make no profit.

Simple terms, If I kept SGL, not selling it at a profit, I would have made a huge loss. We talking about my portfolio would be halved.
