Still no CoreShare divi payout on EE. ABSA paid on 19th already
Have you phoned them to find out what the delay is - as they seem to be co joined with ABSA and they have paid dividends

I hold all of these counters other than CIG, but don't follow Botha in his arguments - he seems to be a pure numbers man. I also posted a comment at the end of the article around small caps - some of the names I listed don't exist anymore yet they were well liked by the market. The one that disturbed me the most was Wearne which is a dismal failure and its share price reflects its pathetic business model, plus they were forced to have a fire sale on their equipment and other assets - thank goodness I got out in time and didn't incur too bigger a loss
I still can't get my head around those punters of numbers to gauge future viability

On a more personal note - I am pleased to hear that your wife's cancer issues are under control and being treated - seems encouraging that the medical assistance you are getting is of a high quality especially in the country you are residing in as it has a history of quality delivery.
God speed with the recovery process, and, as I say to my kids, getting old and the concomitant medical expenses are not for sissies

Orca - I have held Apadtit since 2014  - here are some prices my system shows over this period
3/7/2015 R 9.85
4/12/2015 R 13.80
6/5/2016 R 11.62
4/11/2016 R 16.56
7/4/2017 R 11.15
13/4/2017 R 11.00

So the best year was 2016 with a high of R 16.56 and since then it has gone backwards - as I mentioned I sold 1/2 my holdings (5,000 shares) and have an order on to buy at R 10. But ultimately I don't know where the share price and the company is going, the last sens  13/2/2017 was very wishy washy and gave me little comfort. So my view is it is either a hold or lighten up on ones holdings

Had to go back on Monday for a PET Scan. The machine that rotates around the body to look for cancer but also makes you radioactive for a week.

I had to twiddle my thumbs for 9 hours waiting for all her appointments and the scan. This is a schlep but we decided to book a hotel for 3 days for the results instead of travelling back to Viana and back again for the results.

The results were good as she has no cancer outside of her throat soft palate. So it has not spread and we were elated. Thank God.

This is getting very expensive with all the travelling and hotel costs and we have now decided to rent a holiday home for 5 weeks in Porto near the hospital. So we will be paying our normal rent for our home plus the extravagant holiday home. But I have to do it to be near my wife during her treatment.

Just a tip to those travelling. Next to our hotel was a MASSIVE mall with a food court that skriks for niks. Must be about 30 food stalls with a common seating area. We ordered fried fish chips and a salad for €4.5 and were given a single portion of fish with a few chips and some salad.

I then noticed a man next to me at the table with 2 portions of fish and double my chips so I asked him what price he paid for it. He paid the same as we did and told us that he is a regular as most are and tourists are ripped off as they only visit once.

This also happens when you go to a pub for a beer. If you are local, you pay less.
So the reality is "Local is lekker"

I had a look at AVI which is in my private portfolio and I didn't see a graph of its share price (maybe there is a hidden icon somewhere) also it shows figures per 2014/2015 which is somewhat dated. The data I can access through my stockbrokers seems way better in terms of currency. Also Moneyweb has a facility to look at company histograms which I found helpful sometime back - but then again I am not an investor who invests based on numbers and am more interested in segment, management, niche positioning, historic performance, share price movements short and long term, dividend history, COE performance and a few other imperatives
The site seems to focus on getting your details and finding out how you would like to invest so I see some hooks in the background

Nope - BID, Rolfes, and Taste spoilt the party, but they do present buying opportunities if they drop a bit more (5-10%) in each case - trigger just waiting to be pulled >:D

Well today was an exceptional day for me on the local market - I have 20 counters in my private portfolio and today barring one (Alert Steel) all showed positive price increases to the extent that my portfolio screen was totally green. I have only seen this on 3 occasions since 2007/08 which is quite remarkable. Some only showed a .1% increase but nevertheless the fact that my whole portfolio was green is what is unique as my portfolio normally shows gains and loses. Very intersting

Just hold onto ADI. It has big moves up and down but you will be rewarded in the end. She has exposure to 38 countries globally that earns USD. I am holding a big steak in ADI and will keep her.
Orca - I hear you I still hold 5,000 shares but I bought in 2015 over time at an all inclusive price of R9.76 and sold 5,000 at R 11.15 - not really shooting the lights out and with these latest ratings downgrades they may suffer with not getting business as their pricings may not prove to be competitive or foreign countries could shy away from SA companies until the dust settles

I sold off half my holdings in Adaptit today as I can't see the company going anywhere over the next year or so, but am hedging my bets by holding on to my halved shareholding hoping they will improve
Bought more Taste this morning and then they go and issue a sens bulletin wherein they say they are going to sell off all non food subsidiaries so not sure how this is going to pan out in the medium term as they still seem to be food acquisitive

Sad what is happening in our country, but purely from an investment perspective I am quite excited about the next few weeks, will be lots of opportunities presenting themselves.
Yup - keep your powder dry and buy up bargains - reminds me of 2007/2008 all over again

Now Zuma783 needs to be recalled, prosecuted and stuck in jail, maybe they can throw in a bit of treason as well
