Indi25
Satrix INDI endeavours to replicate the performance of the FTSE/JSE Industrial 25 index. This index comprises the top 25 industrial companies listed on the JSE.

Satrix INDI accurately replicates the FTSE/JSE INDI 25 index, by holding the shares in this index in exactly the weighted and number they constitute the index. Dividends paid by the underlying companies, less expenses incurred by managing the portfolio, are paid out to Satrix INDI shareholders on a quarterly basis.

Orca, I think they use the weighted average of each security they hold in the indi portfolio, if you look in the indi share basket you notice weekly percentage changes of some stocks, example SAB was there largest holding of 24% of the portfolio about 4 months ago and present holding is around 19%.
If a stock is in a up trend they increase there weighting.

That's the way I see it done but I could be wrong  ;D

Orca, if you invest a small amount monthly by debit order then Satrix itself is your best bet. I am with BoE and don't think there is a minimum amount but the charges are way too high for such a small contribution.
I have a Satrix debit order running for my wife with a fixed monthly amount now for over 2 years and is doing very well so would not worry to much about buying high as you also buy low and the share is not that volatile.
Just my thoughts

Dividends and Interest minus tax gets paid in to your trading account. On my STXIND i was paid i think
beginning July for 2nd quarter, about 1% annually.
Usually there is a SENS out of payment dates.

Divi, interest and foreign divi were paid July 11th in to my trading account

It sucks being popular. Everyone gets jealous and nasty...

In case the rest of you were wondering what went on yesterday afternoon and evening, my server was under a DDOS attack. That's distributed denial of service in non-techie speak.

What it looks like is that someone was jealous that my main site was taking business away from theirs. Attack came from inside South Africa too, nice guys. Kept me up for a few hours. It doesn't look like this site was the target, just unfortunate collateral damage. The target it seems was my main site, a local (uhuhm should I let the cat out of the bag...) dating site  ::)

Anyway, it appeared to stop just after midnight, so I'm really hoping things will be more normal today.

The winner of this competition get's a free chickie at christmas????:)) :TU:

Hi orca, OMN has a current PE of 13 and EOH at 18. Underlying fundamentals and managment teams of both company's is very good and solid, just my opinion and please do your own research

You are right Patrick, all satrix shares pay a divi and interest every quarter which suits me just fine.
Unfortunetely there is no option to get the divi's as shares and have them reinvested like Brait does.
As you can see below last divi was 20.67 cents

thanks guys for your inputs, it's rather interesting our different outlook and ways we live and what we want.
bottomline is we all invest in the hope of making money and some of us have been very fortunate to select the right stocks and make fantastic returns which in turn is archived trough time spent analysing stocks and the market.
I for one spent many hours a week tracking the market and still get joy out of it everyday especially if one can make a quick buck.
i am a big believer in "time in the market" on selected stocks and have been holding some for years as long i can see potential for further growth and good divis.
great site and enjoy reading all your comments, thanks to Patrick of starting this challenge :TU:
