Yip the gift that keeps on giving. Not buying just holding for me, wonder if this might be a mistake.

Dont know how relevant my contribution will be as I'm still slaving away all day, hopefully FI by my late 40's with one of those russian brides.

Have to agree with REIT's as they pay decent dividends and you wont have the hassle of fixing small problems on your property or dealing with late payers. Also REIT's like Growthpoint can offer good hedge value, seeing as they own a portion in Growthpoint Australia.

Try this website its american but some princples stay the same,  http://www.dividendmantra.com/

Thanks JaDeB this was a mouthfull but very intresting analysis.
Also, I see both tencent and Mail.ru is higher this morning ,so perhaps NPN might breach the R2 000.00 benchmark.

Shares / Remgro possable buyout of Distell
« on: October 22, 2015, 07:00:24 am »
Hi Guys,

Came across this article on moneyweb.

http://www.moneyweb.co.za/news/companies-and-deals/remgro-keen-on-sabmillers-stake-in-distell/

This share was on my radar as a buy and hold stock but now I am not so sure, if Remgro intends to own the controlling share of Distell wont it be better to just buy Remgro instead of Distell seeing as Remgro is more deversified.

read on bloomberg that the chinese markets can expect to go through a growth period, assuming tencent is behind this this spurt :)

So instead of being a good Samurai and practising my chiburi, I have been reading ''Sens'' and articles relating to this company.

It appears that the share price lowered as management issued new shares in lieu of buying land ownership for future development. This is good as it means that the company owns assets in the form of land. It also gives the impression that more developments might take place in the future.
Hence the management have a bigger picture that they work towards to.

The only drawback which I can identify at this point is that land ownership cost money in the form of rates and taxes and some land parcels might need to be rezoned for residential purposes. This in itself can place a burden on the cash flow that could have gone into developing properties faster.

Classic case of a catch 22 situation, but then again courage is one of the eight virtues of the Samurai.

Shares / Freedom Property Fund - Value share?
« on: October 16, 2015, 01:04:11 pm »
Hi guy's

Freedom Property Fund currently trades at around 18 cents and has a NAV of 130.4

With the astronomical success of Calgro, can Freedom  replicate a similar achievement over a long period of time say 5 to 8 years.
I am not fond of penny shares as most of them trade low for a reason, but this company stands out for me or perhaps a am a little too greedy today.

Whats your opinion on this company?

Seems like Capital Appreciation is not doing too badly on its first day started off @1.00 now @1.10, not as great a start as Sygnia but lets see in a couple of months.
