@tmsf12. I don't have a strategy so I will need to get high growth as quick as possible. This I do with buying strong growth stocks that have not yet had a down cycle and dumping them when they do. CML is a good example. I am hoping ADI and PGR will follow CML's pattern.
If the markets carry on down in the days ahead then I will pretty much be in the putty.

Or perhaps you can wait a while longer and get a premium discount of 50%.
Looking back at 2008, I have this nostalgic taste of  Dčjŕ Vu.
Brokers and analysts were urging investors to climb in at -10% at the "discount" and the markets continued to fall to -45%.
Had the investors complied, I'm sure the markets would not have dropped that low but the fear factor prevailed.
I hope you are correct though.

Great post P. As I have retired, I cannot take a 50% dip but I might still survive if I change my eating habits by eating what my food ate and chucking in a tin of cheap tuna with Chinese 1 minute noodles.
This should bring my monthly expenditure down to R7k pm from the R9k. I have gone off red meat anyway and am on a low carb diet so no beer or beans on toast for me.

I am not a prophet of doom and gloom but here is a YT video posted 10 days ago of an interview with a global economist that accurately predicted the 2007 crash. What he predicts here has perhaps begun now bearing in mind that he said "in 2 weeks time" 10 days ago.

Yes. Thinking is a pesky drain on the brain. Try and avoid it at all costs.  :TU:

There is no reason for her big swings of late. Tomorrow she will go up again or I will sneak back here when no body is looking and delete this post.

I have lost count of the number of times I have been too afraid to look at my portfolio balance only to be smiling again after a few days. I have been avoiding looking at it like the plague this week.

Compare LON and MTA yesterday to today.

For every seller there is a buyer. I wonder why any one would want to buy LON while it is in a protracted down trend.

This is an example of why I have not moved my money into a developed market.

What did you learn from that? Stay out of commodities and resources.
I am getting worried now as too many CEO's are hedging and selling.

CML has no prospects for a recovery yet. November will send her to low 60's.

Not sure what to think of this one any more. The Russian ruble has halved in value against the dollar over 2 years and had to cut imports. This plus the fact that the past 2 winters were mild affected battery sales at Rombat and Mutlu.
I will hold on though.

I would use the term "exemplary" rather. They keep beating their previous results year after year.
Seems that there is no end to this.

ADI has become my best performer. After nearly 2 weeks of struggling to break the 1000 psychological barrier, she made it today on strong volume.  :TU:

Strange that those buildings are still intact after years. Had they been in SA, after a few days, all the fittings would be missing and a week later only the foundations would be left.

We all heard that China devalued the Yuan yesterday and once again today. They did not only devalue their currency but devalued the world markets with it.
What makes me worried is how they artificially inflated their growth since the 2007/8 collapse. They built whole new cities with high rise building with malls unparalleled in size anywhere. Today they are all empty of people as they cannot afford the prices. 64 Million apartments are still empty in these new cities.

Is this why they reduced the import of copper and iron causing the price drop in these commodities? They have stopped building these cities and this may be the main cause of the stagnation of the markets of late.

Am I crazy or what? Here is a video of these empty cities.
