Recovery of the financial sector has the DIVTRX leading the DBXUS by 5% and the STXIND by 2,5% over the past month.  :TU:

The USD/ZAR has corrected as Dawie Roodt predicted. Is 15,8 the new normal and time to buy USD?
Will the ZAR correct some more post Feb 24? Perhaps to 13,5 again?

DBXUS pays dividends. BNPUSA does not. Also, the latter you will have to buy off market as it is not liquid at all.
'

@Orca

Could you explain off market? and the liquid comment?

Liquidity is the amount of trades per day and the amount of shares traded. Today, BNPUSA only had 2 trades and 1 robot trade at close. Total amount traded was +- R10k.
If you want a large amount of say R500K, it would take weeks to fill and virtually impossible to sell.
You can then buy directly from the bank concerned and not off the JSE directly. This is "off market".

Dividends are normally not automatically re invested for you so the charts will not reflect dividends. Over a 3 year period even a divi of 2% pa re invested will have an impact on the gains. So I strongly doubt  that one is better than the other over time.

Shares / Cuba embraces US and now the EU.
« on: February 02, 2016, 12:57:48 am »
Cuba, a country with outdated cars and technology has now been accepted into the new world with the EU lifting sanctions and embracing it into it's fold.
A much sought after holiday destination that was denied to many outsiders has now been declared open.
This can only mean growth for the country equal to Dubai.
Investing in Cuba in this market turmoil can be the only way to fortune.
Now to find out what to invest in.

Try remote viewing. It can be done by anyone.
Here is a study.
The study concluded that remote viewing "appears to be a reasonably accurate way to predict the future of binary outcomes... RV has dramatic implications for how we view time and our ability to perceive the future".

This is not, however, the first time someone has made money through remote viewing research. The paper discusses some previous history, including a study conducted by pioneering remote viewing researcher Hal Puthoff in 1982, in which a series of 30 RV trials attempted to predict the outcome of the silver futures market. Financially, the trials netted a profit of approximately $250,000 for their investor, "of which Puthoff’s share was ten percent, or more than $25,000, which he used to help fund a new Waldorf School". And in that same year, researchers Russell Targ and Keith Harary also used remote viewing to predict silver futures in an attempt to raise funds for their research, with their first experiment yielding $120,000.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to practice some remote viewing for a while...

DIVTRX recovering over the past week.
STXIND +2%
DIVTRX +4%

To rub salt into some wounds, here is a 5 day chart for those who fled to DBXUS.

SA interest rates are higher sending foreign investors back in and this will increase CML earnings.

The 90/90/90 rule is well known in trading circles. It means that 90% of traders loose 90% of their capital within 90 days. Good luck.  :TU:

Was alluded to before. http://shareforum.co.za/shares/cherrypicking-tapouts/msg12564/#msg12564
I posted charts of the JSE INDI vs foreign large markets and it showed a similar performance. Investors see the weakening ZAR and scramble to get out without looking at the bigger picture.
They fail to realize that getting out creates a tax event and other costs and before they realize, the SA markets and the ZAR has normalized and gaining in value. Then they have to get the money back causing more expenses.
We have lived through many downgrades and ZAR/USD peaks and still managed to do better locally on a longer term.
Dawie Roodt is not a fool when he said last week that after every ZAR surge in weakness, it rapidly corrects and this may just happen as soon as next month and the boat is missed.

RYK VAN NIEKERK: But investors see rands, obviously the return in rands is the currency in South Africa, how should investors then look at it?

HLELO GIYOSE: Don’t spend time thinking about that. For the last 111 years, whether you splice this over the full 111 years, 50 years, 75 years, 20 years, South Africa is the third-best performing stock market in the world in dollar terms. So what does that say about that rand thesis?

DBX very bad dividend payers!!!

Hehe - also true, but our beloved ZAR made up for all of that!

Good article on Moneyweb today. The JSE was the 3rd best performing market in the world for the past 111 years in Dollar terms.
InBev did not look at hedging the dollar or euro when they looked at SAB and it's holdings in ZAR.
