ADI sitting with excessive cash hence its somewhat high PE is justified. I expect them to make a large acquisition soon and starts shooting the lights out.
The CEO has said that he aims to make at least one per year to grow the company. He is following the EOH strategy.
About 20% of my portfolio is in ADI.

@gcr. The Brits in the Benidorm area in the south of Spain and in Portugal's Algarve are already thinking of selling. They can no longer afford their bonds as they get paid in GBP's. These will become very cheap over time.

@P. I couldn't believe the noise. It started as a wave from distant suburbs and then hit my area. I never knew so many people lived here as they all flooded out into the streets blowing vuvuzellas and jingling tins with marbles in. Hooters blowing constantly, fireworks lit the skies. People hugging complete strangers. This carried on for 2 solid hours and then the official fireworks started in the old town and we could see it from our balcony. What a marvelous site to behold.

ADI. June interim results:
Interim Earnings per Share (EPS) improved by 43%. Divies only paid out at year end report.

I also tend to get addicted to greed and that is why I never go to casinos. I traded gold and sugar successfully to begin with then got greedy and upped my lot size with no stop losses and landed up with a margin call.

In a few weeks time, this will show as a normal blip on the charts. We had too many good days and it was inevitable and expected that traders would book profits now. Perhaps another 1% to go or perhaps the market will turn as early as tomorrow.

@P. Whatever reduction you may get, you will end up paying 15%. If it is reduced to 11% in Ireland. then you will pay 4% to SARS. You pay tax on world wide income in SA even on divies but you will get a reduction on taxes paid to foreign countries.

I would look a bit further into this as Ireland has a WDT of 20% and SA has a WDT of 15%. However, Ireland has a tax treaty with SA that limits this to 10%. Your broker cannot apply this reduction unless you sign an instruction to this effect.
Your Ireland broker will send you the form that you sign, scan and send it back.
