The 2016 polls show that the DA can no longer be called the "white madam's" party and Mymoney who is black and married to a white, can no longer be seen as a puppet for the whites.

A mere 8% of SA's population is white and 8% is coloured. The sheer number of voters that voted for the DA is proof that the DA is no longer a "whites only" party and can no longer be accused by the ANC of being this.
This only proves that many blacks that did not grow up during the apartheid era and are now becoming educated and can see through the ANC and their corruption and self enrichment and are now in the DA camp.

History has shown that ruling parties in Africa always start in urban areas and with time diminish to rural areas where the unfortunate unschooled live. Their strongholds diminish to rural areas and then disappear.
Zim is a good example where his war veterans in the cities are now rebelling against Rob as he retreats to the rural areas. 
This is now happening in SA.

The ZAR did not embarrass me and today she reached my 13,7 target.

Yes....We all have a moment of madness. I don't know much about bonds due to low yields but would you not get more if you held it in cash at the JSE?

Even at this 13,8 rate, the ZAR remains oversold. The USD is overbought as well. My prediction of 13,7 is taking longer than I expected due to the hiccups made by Zuma, Hawks and Brexit but is still on course and as long as EM's stay in favour, the ZAR could well go lower than I expected.

The popular Big Mac Index shows that the ZAR could be worth 5,85 but that is a bit far fetched and where will the ZAR start to turn back after 9 months of gains is beyond me. It has momentum to go further though.

The "experts" say 17 at year end and Chris Hart is calling 20. Have they ever been correct? I am by no means a financial person but I see sub 13,7 soon.

Once again. Another sweating July. Too hot to move. Had the shutters down to keep the sun out and the double glazing helps as well. This makes the apartment pitch black but at least it keeps the heat out and I can use lights.

I pity the people in the south or the Algarve as it is typically 8C hotter than here in the north.

When the sun sets at 21.30 we can open the windows to let air in but..... The people in the opposite apartments discard their clothing and walk about in their panties and underpants. This irks my wife for some reason but what the hell. It is cooler and works.

We have a brief respite on Saturday so will stock up on beer and food once again and wait for the next heatwave on Monday.
