Pretty hard when GDP is <2%

That said, there are companies that do still have impressive earnings growth - EOH on a fairly undemanding p/e, COH on a high p/e - sure there are many others with a 3+ years decent growth.

Have just be taken by EE. They where quoting R34 on DIVTRX this morning - hit sell, still quoting R34, so sold - immediately, it said I got R29  - this was at 09H47

Now, I sale had been completed at 9:07 for 3400

20/02 09:07   AT   2950   475
20/02 09:07   AT   2947   1,000
20/02 09:07   AT   3400   695
20/02 09:07   AT   2940   600

But why are they quoting the last sale price, not the BID price???? even a 15 minute delayed bid would have been better - yet they able to give you the bid price seconds after completing the sale? ABSA does, and you do not pay for live pricing with them...

Will be moving to ABSA's TFSA as soon as we are able. Did call EE, but they say cannot do anything ( just looking at getting transaction fees back).

Not a happy camper.

GCR - it's just under half my portfolio. You are right, probably a bit dangerous. On the whole though, would not change a single one (rethink - maybe Safari) - I did buy them all because of some or other reason. Biggest looser has been Taste, yet a still feel once things have bedded down, that it could do very well and might have more upside than all the others.

But I am not naive - a couple of these ARE going to let me down, but also hoping to hit it out the park with a couple as well.

My 2c - no one shop is cheapest on everything. Also, some small 7-11 type shops can have good prices, esp if the supplier is to small to supply the large stores. I always buy milk (R7L and cheese) in one.

Never get to a stage where you NEED to buy something, always have a backup and when you open that, start looking for a special - for non perishables obviously - and freezer items.

Enjoying this thread!

I gave up using champix - was seriously hooked and had tried countless times before. Well worth it BTW - might be easier if you did a bit of a lifestyle change - you know, take up a sport, eat well, moderate the drinking.

Good luck in all your ventures. Many have ideas (me included) but never take it much further than the idea phase. Kudo's to you for not getting stuck there.
