MP- where do u get other info? - most down / up shares so on?

I’m using various apps for info:  Bloomberg, BloombergTV+, StatsSA, MarketWatch, YahooFinance, Sharenet also DSTV for CNBC and Bloomberg channels and web sites investing.com, money.cnn.com, ig.com/za & psgonline.co.za.  (The last two you need to be registered and pay but they also cover some info for free).

I know information overload, it takes me almost an hour to process each day, so much white noise between the gems. :)  But, if you don't do it, you're lost in the maze, well okay, I am. :-X

Other unusual news:  Botswana's only power station has broken down due to boiler leaks and generator failures, leaving the world's biggest diamond producer entirely dependent on power imports from South Africa's already strained grid.

On a personal note, I thinks it’s time for me to get back into the workforce, continuing my career. Not sure how it will affect my presence here, will have to cross that bridge when I get there.

In other words, I need an understudy for this forum. :-*

Any takers?

If its long term just leave it.

Remember you pay brokers fees and cost when you buy, and sell, and buyback again and there is always tax to consider as well.  Eventually, its back where it was though it could be weeks or months.   I think you should only take a loss on a share if something really bad happens to an individual company, not a global trend which is fickle most of the time. I always ask myself:  In 10 years time, would I care about today's -2% on the Alsi?  Usually not.

But that being said, I don't think it is over yet. If your personality and circumstances allow, I'd say ride it out but that is obviously up to you.  Good luck on whatever you decide.

All I’m thinking now is:

“We're taking it, we're taking it, we're taking it down We're taking it.  Fireball.”

Don’t despair, eventually:

“We're bringing it, we're bringing it, we're bringing it back. Fireball.”
>:D

That’s why I think you should always split your portfolio into three:

Long term and biggest chunk (66%-75%) of your funds. (PSG-online Account)

Weeks and months like this don’t matter, eventually it will be better and you just add whenever you think it’s over and forget about it, no margin to watch as a bonus. Don’t go there day to day, you’ll get depressed when its spiraling down.

Medium and short term CFD’s, smallest part of your portfolio (IG Markets)

More speculative and very risky but it keeps things interesting on a day to day basis and you’ll learn to appreciate days like these eventually. You win when you should lose, generating more funds to buy long term when it’s over and at a bargain price, win-win.

Align with the market rather than hoping to control it. Jump that fence, don’t be shy. ;)  (On medium & short term only).

Anyway.
