Huge sell-off in Asia-Pacific this morning with biggest 3-day drop in 7 months. Japan posted record annual trade deficit on energy shipments and weakness in Yen. Shortfall of 11.5 trillion Yen, previous year 6.9 trillion Yen.  Imports rose 25% in Dec from prev year, exports gained 15% resulting in 1.3 trillion Yen monthly deficit.

Chinese flash PMI expected to slow down but numbers earlier this morning showed surprise contraction.  Monthly factory action fell to 49.6, (below the boom/bust boundary of 50), prev Dec 50.5.
