Which of these would you rather have in your TFSA instead of DIVTRX:  NFSWIX, MAPPSG or CTOP50?

I like the CTOP50. Did a quick check on divs from Jul '16 till Jul '17. DIVTRX total of 88.84cps vs CTOP total 60cps. So almost 50% more divs from DIVTRX. That being said, if I plot prices from ~Jun 2015 to date, CTOP is up 2.5% and DIV down 3.3%...I love dividends, so I just have a bit of both!

Will be very interested to see how dividends are treated. But must say, looking interesting. Always wanted to own VISA - but lot's of really interesting companies there, others for me would me AMD and Nvidia - but looks like lot's of hours of research in front of me - excellent.

So would be interested to know - what you looking at. And what percentage of SA shares will you be selling to buy US shares? I am thinking 1/4 - 1/3

Think I'll wait and see how this pans out.

Transaction fees: 0.735%

Total transaction fee? If yes then actually very good, local equities is at 0.64% if I am not mistaken. The one thing I would like to know is, how do they handle currency conversion..or do you need to deposit $$$? IF we can deposit ZAR & they handle everything for 0.735% it would be epic!

Yeah, I found out as well that you need an overseas account.

I ended up going with Ameritrade.

That being said, I'm still looking for a cheaper broker.

Hi Charl.

How are you finding Ameritrade? What are the costs/processes like?

I am still waiting for the Easy Equities offshore solution...Hoping for some details soon!

It looks like they will only offer some US shares, talking about S&P 100 (which I am assuming are the 100 biggest companies) etc.

I do hope we will have access to some of the "boring" big stocks like JNJ, KO etc & not just facebook & Apple etc.

Still, I am excited about having the option!

9.5% p/month - wouldn't that be great. in dollars nogal. There are ponzi schemes that offer less!

I doubt it - must be per year, even then, that's a pretty good div/yield for the states. in sa there are a couple of REITs paying around 11% per year.

http://www.dividend.com/dividend-stocks/financial/reit-diversified/arr-armour-residential-reit-inc/

You sure its not legit?

Just be careful, I see ARR cut their dividend by 13% in Jan '17. Maybe first make sure the co is still solid?

The GLPROP distribution was 124.80c/share, on an LDT close of 3227c. Is my calculation of a semi-annual div yield of 3.8% correct? All things remaining equal, this would equate to an annual div yield of 7.7%?

That would be awesome, but I kinda doubt it...Most ETFs have varying distributions. What makes me wonder is, when GLPROP was listed, they estimated the div @ 3.2% or something which I was assuming was the full year div. So I have no idea what the next 6 months will hold...

I doesn't bother me too much, I just record my payment dates as pmt +1. I do feel I have missed some opportunities because of this, but it has also "saved" me on other occasions, so I guess it balances out.

No idea how ABSA does/did it...But I know EE always(mostly) pay only the following day. I have also wondered if they get some interest this way...or what other reasons are there that would prevent them from paying on the same day as the payment date. Maybe a cash-flow thing?

Payment date for DTRX on SENS is the 20th, so we should be receiving our divs today, typically around 13:00 or so it seems

From EE FAQ: PLEASE NOTE: Dividends are paid into the accounts of EasyEquities Investors, one day after we receive payment (payment date).

Patrick, did you use Absa world trader to buy your VWRD? If not, what platform did you use?

Thanks
Hi Deon, I used an interactive brokers account. Other people here have used that or Degiro which is the cheapest if you have a Euro bank account.

There's only one thing wrong with the ABSA offering. There's a custody fee of 0.1% annually.

I have been looking into Degiro as well. I see you can open an account with a UK bank account as well. Also, the fees to buy ETFs are really low on Degiro, very nice!

Nice!

Always good to have more ETFs to choose from. I wonder what index they will track with their ETFs..

Very cool to see new ETFs on our market!

I was wondering, specifically for the Global property ETF, how would the foreign withholding tax work on this one seeing as it is priced in $$$. I also wonder how this would work in a TFSA. As far as I can see we still pay the foreign WHT for the DBX ETFs, so assuming it would be the same with this?

If anyone knows, please share!

Cash dividend

Notice is hereby given of the declaration of the final dividend

number 11 of 52,16 cents per share for the final six-month period to

30 June 2016, bringing the total dividend for the year ended 30 June

2016 to 103,68 cents per share (2015: 94,77). The dividend has been

declared from income reserves.

Happy with that

I am happy with this also, luckily bought my stocks @698c, so currently up ~12% with the div coming...very nice!

Hopefully they can continue with dividend growth close to 10% pa, that at least beats inflation quite nicely.
