Funds:

Down scaled my monthly DO even more, to these fund, rather accumulate and then buy equities or ETF's.

AG Balance Fund - moved R30Kr to TFSA EasyEquities
AG Provident Preservation Fund - still there what to do?
Nedgroup Global Feeder Fund. - Added some money to this, like the foreign exposure, and dont really have other means of foreign exposure besides DBX ETF,
Hopefully there is a cheaper alternative to STD Banks Web trader, fees seems HIGH, maybe in future.
Stanlib RA       - Still need to decide
Metropolitan RA. - Still need to decide

FYI. Trading Central.

Our pivot point stands at 37705.

Our preference: the downside prevails as long as 37705 is resistance.

Alternative scenario: above 37705, look for 39238 and 40187.

Comment: the RSI is below 30. It could either mean that the stock is in a lasting downtrend or just oversold
and therefore bound to retrace (look for bullish divergence in this case). The MACD is below its signal line
and negative. The configuration is negative. Moreover, the share stands below its 20 and 50 day MA
(respectively at 38599.65 and 39682.58).

The Investor Challenge / Re: Blog post: F... You money

@Patrick, yes im in IT, Backend/Frontend/Web development, hoping to move to Mobile soon. ;)

And yes, there are very few ppl I know that work at one company in IT for more than 5 years.
I dont see this as a Loyalty issue, alot of people do.

To me its a contract, straight up business agreement.

I agree to use my skillset and do the work they allocate me, according to a agreed time schedule.
They agree to pay me for this, and allocate work to me that I specialize in according to a agreed time schedule.

If either breaks the agreement its time to move on. :TU:

Very nice, I have used the F-You money when leaving my previous two employers. I did not take the nice break, but i'm way above the average that a lot of my peers are getting salary wise due to
being able to negotiate from a position of power.

Another fringe benefit was, that my previous company and current company i work for, was mighty impressed that I could start "Right now".

I do agree that Tencent is undervalued when compared with Facebook.

I also don't agree that NPN is overvalued, but its is getting there fast.

So they hold 34% of tencent, interesting.

And the Price tag of  188437c for a company that hold 34% of "the group now generating the fourth most revenue of any Internet company worldwide only Amazon, Google and eBay are ahead of it",
is too much. :)

I wonder what would be a reasonable price if NPN held 34% of facebook? or 24% of Facebook,  5% of eBay and 5% of Amazon?

PS : I think a lot of people in SA, still think SA is the sea and not the pond.

Mmmm ye I have seen this in ESOR (up and down from 18c to 23c) and in ENX specifically, was at 250 then trickled down to 220, and suddenly 600k volumes, where previously it was 2k, 5k, and 10k purchases.
Just seems strange to me, and my only conclusion is that it get sold in 2k, 3k and 10k batches, forcing down the price to specific price point and then BAM in comes the volume.

I mean at 220 per share selling 315 shares = R693.00, and then the buyer has to pay all the tax etc., strange :wtf:

Shares / Price Fixing

So, it might just be the novice in me, but I have seen some small caps share price take a nose dive, and then looking at the volume of share sold, it literally is only a few hundred to a couple of thousand. This would continue day by day, some time, a upswing cause the volume would increase, might be that it reach the price point for someone else, and they do a buy. But eventually
the downward trend continues with lower prices and small volumes , and then suddenly  you see huge volumes say 600k or more. Is this legal? Or is this just a small cap thing?

Also have a look at http://www.justonelap.com/, lots of info for all levels.

I basically had all of my investments in funds, and after a prolonged period of crappy return, and them still taking there fees, I decided to take the plunge,
to start and manage my investments myself.

At this stage i'm about 50% self managed and 50% in funds. And even with the 50% i manage my self, there is a large portion that is blue chips, Indexes, and only about
3 stocks that i'm using as speculative trades. Im very novice at this, so my approach is very much cautious. ;)

I read and article about them written by Simon Brown.

Basically he was saying that they are eating the other BIG BANKS lunch, by taking away clients from them left right and centre, due to the costs of banking
that the BIG boys are asking etc. and this is besides there loan section, so I investigate them from there and went for it. Very happy that I did  :TU:
