Can only relate this drop to Oil price plunges,
currently trading at pre 2008/2009 crash prices, sounds like a LT buy to me.

Very interesting. Especially the jump of almost all companies between the 7 and 6 year range,
coinciding with the recovery of the market, even though the previous 3 to 4 year was relatively flat.

Well yes indeed, my motivation was basically to get a inkling as what people have in there LT portfolios, and if they indeed changed or have added to them in terms of last year.

Basically my split into these ETF's is around 20k each, and they are to augment my pension, and i will be adding to them going forward, but i'm also looking at blue chips.

Current pension funding consists of the following

AG Balance Fund
AG Provident Preservation Fund (Basically another AG Balance Fund)
Investec Value Fund
Nedgroup Global Feeder Fund.

+

Small Stanlib Fund and a small Metropolitan RA.

Indeed that is my aim to get to the 22% of gross.

Thanks for your comments.

There was an old thread, dealing with this dating back to 2013, decided to make a new one.

Currently my Portfolio (Beginner / Not even novice)

STXIND    33.3%
STXFIn     33.3%
DBX USA  33.3%

Hoping to add some blue chips in the next 6 months.

Not much of a gambler, don't have the stomach for it, so mostly go for stable, also still have some time left, retirement only in about 25y.

Post yours and comment on mine if you like. :TU:

Just like you I have two, but my larger one is more liquid. Smaller one is also a preservation fund.

The Tax on cashing it up is huge, not sure how much but its big. What I do know, specifically relating to my preservation fund with AG, is that there is a specific amount, thinking it is something
like 20K that you can get as a once of never to be repeated again, without any tax complications.

DBXJP - Distribution Announcement - Six Months Ended 30 June 2014

db x-trackers MSCI Japan Index ETF
JSE code: DBXJP
ISIN: ZAE000115176
(“dbx Japan”)

A portfolio in the db x-trackers Collective Investment Scheme in Securities, registered as such in
terms of the Collective Investment Schemes Control Act, 45 of 2002.

DISTRIBUTION ANNOUNCEMENT – SIX MONTHS ENDED 30 JUNE 2014

The manager and trustee have resolved to make a distribution to holders of dbx Japan securities
recorded in the register on Friday, 27 June 2014 in respect of the six months ended 30 June 2014.

Details of the distribution are set out below:

- The distribution payable to holders will be an amount in ZAR equivalent to JPY 0.38033
(three eight point zero three three sen) per dbx Japan security (the “JPY distribution
amount”).
- The JPY distribution amount will be converted to ZAR at the exchange rate prevailing on
or about Wednesday, 23 July 2014, details of which will be released on SENS on or about
Thursday, 24 July 2014.
- The distribution will be paid to holders on or about Monday, 28 July 2014.

The JPY distribution amount (which represents a pro rata portion of the distributable income of the
portfolio) has been calculated after deduction of any foreign withholding tax payable by db x-
trackers on dividends. Foreign withholding tax as a percentage of gross foreign dividends is equal to
15.36%. The JPY distribution amount of JPY 0.38033 per dbx Japan security is calculated as follows:

- Gross foreign dividends of JPY 0.82822 (eight two point eight two two sen);
- Less: Foreign Withholding tax of JPY 0.12723 (one two point seven two three sen);
- Plus: Interest and equalisation of JPY 0.00038 (zero point zero three eight sen);
- Less: Management fee of JPY 0.32104 (three two point one zero four sen).

The information set out above is published for information purposes only.

Holders should contact their tax advisers with regard to the applicable tax treatment of the JPY
distribution amount and the withholding tax.
