It's called a Total Return ETF. NFSWIX and NFEMOM are examples of ETFs that reinvests the dividends for you.

The total expense ratio of NFSWIX is 0.36% so you are indirectly paying for that reinvestment of dividends.

Explain? What makes NFSWIX's TER so different from the others? STX40 is close to 0.45%

CSEW40 is too strict with their equal weighting co suffering it is a top 40. Some of those companies (ala NPN) "deserve" a greater piece of your portfolio pie. CSTOP50 and NFEMOM's weighting limitations are better imo (10% and 12% respectively if I'm not mistaken).

As for DBXWD and DBXUS - DBXUS is too expensive considering it makes up 50-60% of the DBXWD. DBXWD is both cheaper and gives better global diversification.

Whether now is the right time to go offshore is another question. I would be limit it to like 30% of my MONTHLY investment.

I read somewhere that STXIND will have NPN at 32% weighting... 3% shy of not qualifying for TFIAs anymore. They'll either need to make a plan and bring in some sort of limits because it is becoming ridiculous.

They are extremely liquid at the prices quoted by the robots Not outside of them as there are not enough buyers and sellers.
The robots will note market movements and modify buy and sell quotes in the direction of the market movements  so you will not benefit from older market prices that have not yet moved. That is how ETF's work.

Well I'll have to take your word for it and go check it out again because I have bought and sold a couple of ETFs before and this is the first time I've struggled with liquidity.

It is not a very liquid ETF and you are trying to sell at market price. You will not find many buyers at that price and you will need to sell at the price quoted. More often than not, this will be a robot placed price and volume.
Once the volume is depleted the robot will immediately top it up again.

It's not very liquid but I always thought the JSE required an ETF's operators to guarantee liquidity. Anyway, moving on...

Cool, he responded pretty quick and the transaction is done. Quoted:

I will take the stock at your level as that is the current NAV of the ETF.

So if this single sided rant of a thread is of any use to anybody, like Patrick mentioned, if your trades aren't happening call their market maker (details on their site).

OK, so my limit price just hit again and AGAIN only a small amount of the shares traded. This pisses me off  :frustrated:

Emailed their market maker, will phone if no response within the hour.

ABSA/NewFunds if you are reading this, please create a DIVTRX alternative :(

PTXTEN - last night I attended a talk on wealth creation at the JSE. One of the counters that came up was this Property tracking counter. My broker/JSE platform gives very little detail on this counter other than its quarterly distribution which seems fairly erratic with dividends ranging between 11 cents and +/-32 cents over 2015/6. Looking at SENS they listed 150,000 securities on 16/8/2016 only to delist 200,000 on 2/9/2016 - there are quite a number of occasions where securities are listed/delisted.
Can anybody throw some light on this index and whether they are holders in their own portfolios (not competition portfolio)
Thanks

I do..

Basically take the top 10 property shares and creates an equally weighted (+- 10% each) ETF from it. Quarterly payouts and rebalancing.

Is it just me or is it near impossible to sell ETFs managed by CoreShares? ABSA and STD Bank's ETFs seem to have the liquidity guaranteed and if the price hits the limit the transaction is executed. With CTOP50 it looks like liquidity is a real issue. Trade is in at market price and only a third has been sold :/

Am I missing something?

Most fun one can have on two wheels if you are happy with 75km/h and never going on highways :)

Your calculator depresses me...  :(
Ah it can't be that bad. And remember, it's conservative, the market could do 30% a year for the next 5 years and we'll all be rich!

Hehe, nah not that bad. At the moment I'm taking some extra financial "strain" due to a bad decision my GF made shortly before I met her: she bought a house  :wall: :frustrated: Long story short, if all goes well it should be sold by the end of the month and then I can get my investments I've been neglecting for the last 6 or so months back on track  :TU:

OK, so I got some feedback.

Similarity between the two are just coincidence.
Seems that it shortlists top 60 shares based on momentum over last 250 days.
Then selects top 20 based on last 12 months excluding latest month.
Min weighting of 1%
Max weighting of 12%

They also have some other checks to make sure that "spikes" in share prices that makes it look like it has momentum are disregarded etc. Overall, if you're not looking for the dividends from DIVTRX but do want "quality" stock then NFEMOM might be worth a look. I reckon I'll move my CTOP50 to it and be done with the "TOP *" ETFs for a while.
