I'd be interested to hear some property experiences.

Thanks, watching now. I still can't get how the market has recovered when the world economies are in such a state. It makes no sense at all.

The Satrix MSCI is a global fund. Generally past performance isn't the best reason to change a fund, there are also tax implications. You need to make sure the change is in line with your investment strategy and not just chasing the latest winner.

What is your rationale in wanting to make the switch?

Welcome. Enjoyed reading the story. Must have been a fun and difficult time. There's a thread somewhere here about offshore brokers.

I like the thread. I'm too lazy to read the finance news, and even if I do I don't really care about the stuff they do. This gives me a quick idea on what's happening on the JSE.

But GCR had a good question, for your new lows, what is the timeframe? If I bought Coronation at R10 a share, and then it went up to R150 and now down to R45, is R45 the new low or do we need to wait for it to hit R2.70 which I think is where it was in 2003?

For new highs I think it's just the highest ever price right? Or is there also a timeframe involved? Like above is Coronation goes to R60 tomorrow is that a new high?

I've looked into a few "income generation" generation sites that ask you to give you email to receive their special reports, but to be honest I haven't once found something I could implement myself that offered a good chance of success.

In fact I now believe the only reliable online income generation sites are sites that sell you online income generation tips! Ie, the whole industry is a scam.

I would love to be proven wrong of course, and if you could do do that and have me receiving a greater return than the investment cost of the signup I'd be happy.

NB: For those who are not aware of it yet, we also offer special rates for offshore transfers for members of this forum. Patrick and a few other forum users have used us before so they can vouch for us. Rand Swiss will do offshore transfers for this forum's users for 0.8% (VAT incl). We do this through a CCM account with Investec which will also pay you 6.5% per annum on any Rands you hold in the account above R10,000. So you can at least earn some interest while you wait for the right time to do the transfer.
6.5% is not bad. If I left my money there and needed some back for something urgent, could I get it back out? If it does it might make sense to use it for my emergency fund.

That high risk country was probably where all the growth came from, it's just backfired lately. Did I miss something re the rand though today?
