Title: Water Utility as investment option
Post by: rjthomas on November 09, 2015, 01:28:34 pm
Good evening fellow investors. I'm a keen researcher of ecology and one of the topics that sparks my interests from time to time is the so called "Water Wars" (https://www.rt.com/news/water-conflict-terrorism-rivers-239/) that's coming. Dr Vandana Shiva has written a book about it. And in a recent TEDx Talk, the speaker Aii Mufuruki, made an off-the-cuff remark about the shortage of fresh water globally. And the area around Lake Malawi, Lake Tanganyika and third one, contains 30% of the world's fresh water.

Anyway I can only think of Rand Water, which is a private utility along the lines of Eskom but privatised somehow. So my question to all you wise wizards of the stock markets is this: What companies own directly or indirectly a water business? I want to invest in them long term.
