Problem reading Flashdrive on android.
« on: September 03, 2014, 04:21:42 pm »
Before we moved to Portugal, I downloaded all my docs on a flash drive. Now I want to print them but I don't have a computer. What I do have is this----

Android tv Stick with spare USB port plugged into my TV. The tv has USB ports as well.
A wireless printer paired to the tv via the printer wireless app. It works as I have printed pdf, xls and pretty much anything off the net.
The tv has Adobe Reader and ES Office downloaded.

Problem is that when I plug the USB flash drive in, it sees the media files on the flash drive but not the xls or pdf.

I also have a tablet but can't find a 32 pin to USB adapter here. Pretty sure it will also not see the documents. Any help out there will be appreciated.
I started here with nothing and still have most of it left.

Download an app called ES File Explorer, it's free and will show you every file. I love my Android TV stick. Mine runs an app called XBMC, and I've added an addon called OnceClickMoviez to it. It has practically every episode of every current TV show on it, and I just stream directly. Don't even bother downloading anything anymore :)

Got sorted. Thanks. ES File Explorer works with StickMount app. The TV's USB ports seem to only work with the native OS of the TV and it shows media only. It is after all a TV. The USB port on the android stick works with the android OS.

The XBMC and OneClickMoviez beats me. OneClickMoviez seems to be a website hosting movies and XBMC has a lot of apps.

What do you use for a remote P? Mine came with a IR mouse but only has a range of 2m and it is a shlep to use.

I use one of these, but only because I already had one. I think a proper airmouse with keyboard on the back would be better:
