Hello all,

I recently was looking for the best fixed deposit rates in South Africa. It turned into quite a big task as banks quote different rates in their ads & online. It took quite a lot of digging in the fine print, to convert them all to effective annual rates so they can be compared.

Anyhow, I realised that others must be wanting to do the same thing.  "I just want to know where I can get the best fixed deposit rates in SA".

So I made my research public & will update it on a monthly basis going forward.

For our Nov edition,
- we have added FedGroup to the list.  They offer an attractive 9.38% (effective rate) for 5-year deposits.
- @AfricanBank , @Sasfin and @Discovery bank leading the pack over most terms

Here are the best fixed deposit rates for December 2019.

FNB and SA Retail bonds have lowered their rates on offer.
