That should scare the s*^t out of anyone residing in ZA. It sure doesn't sit well with me, being in the Garden Route ..

Quite a scary read indeed. I've worked in some rather insecure places, and I can tell you that the international organisations are usually well protected, it's the locals around that bear the brunt of any attacks. How this is carrying on is beyond me. There must be a lot of grease continuously flowing to the right palms for the powers that be to turn a blind eye.

Was browsing the daily maverick and saw that they've posted an apology on this piece
Daily Maverick published an article by De Wet Potgieter entitled “Al-Qaeda: Alive and well in South Africa” dated 13 May 2013, which was posted on the Daily Maverick website. After an exhaustive internal process, we now can acknowledge that there were inaccuracies in relation to Farhad and Junaid Dockrat in the article and we wish to set the record straight.
