If you have STXEMG then there's almost no point to take ASHGEQ over STXWDM.

I currently hold CTOP50, STXWDM, STXEMG and STX4IR so I approve of your choices. You only need to add PTXTEN and GLPROP and you have my TFSA portfolio :D

cool!

You happy just holding CTOP50 for SA equities? Figure I will pick and choose some of the small ones to hold individually. But of course, ASHMID would be the one to get more of the market covered.

I once held ASHMID (when it was still RMB) and sold it. Never looked at it again. CTOP50 is great for the 10% cap on the share although if I had to start over I'd have a hard look between it and MAPPSG. Wouldn't bother with a regular T40.

Well yesterday thanks to Cyril the squirrel - I passed my 2020 targets - but as the saying goes 1 swallow doesn't a summer make so looking for a continuation of the trend - but have set myself a further goal for 2020

This market is crazy at the moment since Thursday last week my share portfolio has improved in value by more that R 320,000 - too much hype - can't see CR fixing the country in a short period of time

well done GCR - unfortunately my stock picking abilities are not what I would like - or at least, the market does not agree with me! Main problem was that i had way to many small caps. But instead of sorting that out, will go the predominantly ETF route, because even though I find it boring, I do know it makes sense.

If you work out your gains in $ you'll see the gains are much bigger than they already appear. I'm not sure it's all based on Cyril fixing things, I think there's a lot of credit going to the fact that Zuma probably can't break things further. Interesting times ahead.

My stock picks have been dismal. Three of my 4 are negative but luckily my winning one is DIVTRAX and it is about 70% of my portfolio.

Portugal takes the exchange rate into consideration for CGT whereby the cost is converted to Euros on day of purchase and so far it is to my advantage. This is not the case for SA residents with foreign investments. You have to use the simplified calculation that effectively rules out currency movements.

I started here with nothing and still have most of it left.
