Title: ELI
Post by: aae on February 19, 2014, 07:21:28 pm
Anyone want to venture an explanation for the nice highs and now back down 50%

http://www.moneyweb.co.za/moneyweb-investment-insights/ellies-directors-lock-in-huge-shareprice-gains.

Were they overbought due to momentum buying and hype about the new tv and solor story and have now returned to normal levels or what.

A nice 100% climb and then 50 % decline, would suggest that is was a share used to make money at the expense of others.

This week I wrote to the CEO requesting that they put out a sens message as to why their share price has taken such a tumble. There are the twins issues of the Eskom solar panel story coming to an end and also they are involved in the set top boxes which has been deferred so many times, akso raised the issue that directors just seem to be sellers of company scrip.
The response I got was not terribly encouraging "Thanks for your mail. We are only allowed to say or comment to a certain degree on sens. These notices are formatted and then approved by the JSE. I have however spoken to these points in our investor presentations" Wayne Samson CEO. I have attended their presentations at the JSE and they have really only spoken about the rosy picture going forward - now I am not so sure whether I still want to be a shareholder.
Also I have to say that I bought some 3 prong plugs last week and the quality was crap - this encouraged me to write to the company as their standards seemed to be slipping

So was this legal insider trading the Ceo's took part in?
